i seem to remember this one trip back from bloomington with you....we were just passing purdue, kinda like where you were when your tire blew out....when all of a sudden ..whats that? a motorcycle passing us on the shoulder? thats what it sounded like anyway, but no, it was no cyclist looking for a thrill. it was a tire with a wound. and thus began my trip to sears to get my new tire. i didnt have the problems you did with the mud and the cold and the cops. but i did have the misfortune of showing up to sears as they were closing, and begging the guy to stay late to help me out. thank god he had a soul and we were able to get back to portage that day.

haha youre right though, that stretch of highway has a curse. i will never take it again. ever. unless i have to go pretty much anywhere south of where i live. then i will. dammit
